Opressive Feminism

Just read an interesting article on the articlesaboutmen.com website talking about how far feminism has gone from where it began. While it had admirable goals when it started it has now gone too far in the other direction and in most cases men are the ones on the rough decisions everywhere.

This is an ideology that sees the relations between the sexes as a never-ending antagonistic power struggle, with women as eternal victims and men as eternal oppressors. It is an ideology that explains away the moral failings of women as the fault of a patriarchal “system”, but holds men responsible for their actions. And most important, it is an ideology that shortchanges children by privileging the rights and importance to children of mothers over fathers.

Denigration of men in ways both casual and formal are a commonplace in society.

the implosion of the traditional family, which can be directly traced to feminism’s repudiation of normative marriage and the role of fathers as vital to a child’s psychological well-being

every credible sociological study on record demonstrates without ambiguity that if there is a single sure indicator for success in adulthood, it is the presence of a father in a child’s life from the time he or she is old enough to negotiate a path through the world beyond her doorstep. If there is a sure indicator of failure – dropping out, drugs, promiscuity, crime – it is not poverty, it is fatherlessness in later childhood and adolescence.

Women and Porn

A new article from the Washington Times details how pornography is becoming more and more of a problem for women as the pornography business itself becomes a bigger and bigger industry itself.

The pornography revenue in the U.S., in 2006 alone, was approximately $13 billion. The pornography industry is also larger than the revenues of the top technology companies combined: Microsoft Corp., Google Inc., Amazon.com Inc., eBay Inc., Yahoo Inc., Apple Inc., Netflix Inc. and EarthLink…

A 2006 survey released by Internet Filter Review showed that 17 percent of women said they struggled with pornography addiction and that one in three visitors to pornography sites were women. About 30 percent of Internet pornography consumers are women, according to the 2008 Internet Pornography Statistics…A 2006 Internet Filter Review poll found that 9.4 million women access adult websites each month, and 13 percent of women admit to accessing pornography at work.

If they’re an addict, they stop developing spiritually, relationally and morally, at the age of the onset of the addiction,” said Mr. Weiss.

But in this article the one part that stuck out and really struck me was that even though more and more women are being caught in the trap of pornography, still men get attacked in the article. Women who watch porn are VICTIMS of non-consenual sex (Rape) and Men who watch porn are PERPETRATORS of non-consensual sex (Rape) according to this professor.

The more pornography women use, the more likely they are to be victims of non-consensual sex,” said Mary Anne Layden, professor of sociology and women’s studies at Wheelock College in Boston. “The earlier the male starts using pornography, the more likely they are to be the perpetrators of non-consensual sex.

Justice system gone mad

Seriously, what is wrong with our Justice system when the father of the victim gets more of a sentence then the attackers. While he should not have punched the attacker I am sure there are many fathers who would have wanted to do more then that.

THE father of a teenage sex assault victim in New South Wales who punched one of his daughter’s attackers has been given a longer good behaviour bond than two of her alleged rapists.

Fathers and Daugthers

Her hair was up in a pony tail,
Her favorite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy’s Day at school,
And she couldn’t wait to go.

But her mommy tried to tell her,
That she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand,
If she went to school alone.

But she was not afraid;
She knew just what to say.
What to tell her classmates
Of why he wasn’t there today.

But still her mother worried,
For her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again,
She tried to keep her daughter home.

But the little girl went to school
Eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees
A dad who never calls. There were daddies along the wall in back,
For everyone to meet.
Children squirming impatiently,
Anxious in their seats

One by one the teacher called
A student from the class.
To introduce their daddy,
As seconds slowly passed.

At last the teacher called her name,
Every child turned to stare.
Each of them was searching,
A man who wasn’t there.

‘Where’s her daddy at?’
She heard a boy call out.
‘She probably doesn’t have one,’
Another student dared to shout.

And from somewhere near the back,
She heard a daddy say,
‘Looks like another deadbeat dad,
Too busy to waste his day.’

The words did not offend her,
As she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher,
Who told her to go on.
And with hands behind her back,
Slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child,
Came words incredibly unique.

‘My Daddy couldn’t be here,
Because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be,
Since this is such a special day.

And though you cannot meet him,
I wanted you to know.
All about my daddy,
And how much he loves me so.

He loved to tell me stories
He taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses,
And taught me to fly a kite.

We used to share fudge sundaes,
And ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him.
I’m not standing here alone.

‘Cause my daddy’s al ways with me,
Even though we are apart
I know because he told me,
He’ll forever be in my heart’
With that, her little hand reached up,
And lay across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat,
Beneath her favorite dress. And from somewhere here in the crowd of dads,
Her mother stood in tears.
Proudly watching her daughter,
Who was wise beyond her years.

For she stood up for the love
Of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her,
Doing what was right.

And when she dropped her hand back down,
Staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
But its message clear and loud.

‘I love my daddy very much,
he’s my shining star.
And if he could, he’d be here,
But heaven’s just too far.

You see he is a AUSTRALIAN soldier
And died just this past year
When a roadside bomb hit his convoy
And taught AUSSIES to fear.
But sometimes when I close my eyes,
it’s like he never went away.’
And then she closed her eyes,
And saw him there that day.

And to her mothers amazement,
She witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children,
All starting to close their eyes.

Who knows what they saw before them,
Who knows what they felt inside.
Perhaps for merely a second,
They saw him at her side.

‘I know you’re with me Daddy,’
To the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
Of those once filled with doubt.

Not one in that room could explain it,
For each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her,
Was a fragrant long-stemmed rose.

And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
By the love of her shining star.
And given the gift of believing,
That heaven is never too far.

What a great Father/son pair. You can really see the love that they have for each other.

Political correctness gone mad

A new study out shows that Thomas the Tank engine demeans women. No really, according to Professor Shauna Wilton from Alberta University, Canada who actually believes this to be the case. What’s more, she has warned that such negative messages about society subconsciously gleened from the show may drive its young fans off the rails in later life

If ever there was a case for funding at universities to be reduced this is case number one. For goodness sake. This is a kids show with no deep underlying subconscious message of male domination. But then again these are the kind of people who ban Noddy and big Ears.

GENERATIONS of children have grown up enjoying the adventures of Thomas the Tank Engine.

It is probably pretty safe to say that few of them, however, have ever pondered the socio-political sub-text of the charming stories.

If they had, they would have discovered the cheeky little train and his friends live in a world blighted by a ‘conservative political ideology’ and a rigid class system that stifles self-expression, according to startling new academic research….She said: ‘It represents a conservative political ideology that punishes individual initiative, opposes critique and change, and relegates females to supportive roles.

‘The female characters weren’t necessarily portrayed any more negatively than the male characters or the male trains, but they did tend to play more secondary roles and they’re often portrayed as being bossy or know-it-alls.

How Porn Harms Marriages, Children, Communities and Individuals

The Family Research Council (FRC) has released a comprehensive study on the devastating effects of pornography, identifying its harms to countless marriages, children, individuals and communities. “Pornography corrodes the conscience, promotes distrust between husbands and wives and debases untold thousands of young women,” explains the study’s author Dr. Pat Fagan, Senior Fellow at FRC and Director of the Center for Research on Marriage and Religion.

While it is often said that it is harmless entertainment, the evidence shows, says Fagan that it is rather “relational and emotional poison.”

Pornography is a visual representation of sexuality which distorts an individual’s concept of the nature of conjugal relations. This, in turn, alters both sexual attitudes and behavior. It is a major threat to marriage, to family, to children and to individual happiness. In undermining marriage it is one of the factors in undermining social stability.

Social scientists, clinical psychologists, and biologists have begun to clarify some of the social and psychological effects, and neurologists are beginning to delineate the biological mechanisms through which pornography produces its powerful negative effects.

KEY FINDINGS ON THE EFFECTS OF PORNOGRAPHY

THE FAMILY AND PORNOGRAPHY

* Married men who are involved in pornography feel less satisfied with their conjugal relations and less emotionally attached to their wives. Wives notice and are upset by the difference.
* Pornography use is a pathway to infidelity and divorce, and is frequently a major factor in these family disasters.
* Among couples affected by one spouse’s addiction, two-thirds experience a loss of interest in sexual intercourse.
* Both spouses perceive pornography viewing as tantamount to infidelity.
* Pornography viewing leads to a loss of interest in good family relations.

THE INDIVIDUAL AND PORNOGRAPHY

* Pornography is addictive, and neuroscientists are beginning to map the biological substrate of this addiction.
* Users tend to become desensitized to the type of pornorgraphy they use, become bored with it, and then seek more perverse forms of pornography.
* Men who view pornography regularly have a higher tolerance for abnormal sexuality, including rape, sexual aggression, and sexual promiscuity.
* Prolonged consumption of pornography by men produces stronger notions of women as commodities or as “sex objects.”
* Pornography engenders greater sexual permissiveness, which in turn leads to a greater risk of out-of-wedlock births and STDs. These, in turn, lead to still more weaknesses and debilities.
* Child-sex offenders are more likely to view pornography regularly or to be involved in its distribution.

OTHER EFFECTS OF PORNOGRAPHY

* Many adolescents who view pornography initially feel shame, diminished self-confidence, and sexual uncertainty, but these feelings quickly shift to unadulterated enjoyment with regular viewing.
* The presence of sexually oriented businesses significantly harms the surrounding community, leading to increases in crime and decreases in property values.
* The main defenses against pornography are close family life, a good marriage and good relations between parents and children, coupled with deliberate parental monitoring of Internet use. Traditionally, government has kept a tight lid on sexual traffic and businesses, but in matters of pornography that has waned almost completely, except where child pornography is concerned. Given the massive, deleterious individual, marital, family, and social effects of pornography, it is time for citizens, communities, and government to reconsider their laissez-faire approach.

Can we all join the pledge

Let me start this by saying, I abhor any violence done against women, whether it is men doing it or not.

But what I hate just as much is the falsehood put out there by the feminist media.

All we ever see is what the feminist media wants to push, that men are bad and that we need to stop what we are doing and apolgise constantly for everything.
A new national survey has found that an “unacceptable” proportion of the Australians excuse and trivialise violence against women.

When are the media or the government going to come out with any information showing that while violence against women is wrong in any form, violence against men is also wrong. That women can be just as violent and just as domineering as men.

Domestic violence is not only perpetrated by men it is also perpetrated against men
Falsely claiming that, compared with male victims of domestic violence, Canadian women are three
times more likely to be injured as a result of violence (actually similar percentages of female and male
victims sustain injuries)
• Falsely claiming that, compared with male victims of domestic violence, Canadian women are five
times more likely to require medical attention or hospitalisation (actually male victims of spousal
violence are almost twice as likely as female victims of spousal violence to suffer major assault)

http://www.mensrights.com.au/MHA_Media_Release_20-2-09.pdf

That is why I would be happy to make any pledge to stop violence but I want to see women stand up as part of the fix to this problem and pledge to stop violence as well. Stop highlighting only men’s failures but show that both men and women have faults and need to fix their faults.

Porn as dangerous as guns to kids

“PORN should be treated like guns and kept under lock and key so children aren’t inadvertently exposed to it at home, a senior Liberal MP has suggested.
Scott Morrison says there should by laws prohibiting parents from letting their children view restricted material.

“It is not acceptable to knowingly or negligently expose a child to pornographic material,” Mr Morrison told Federal Parliament tonight.

“To do so in my view is child abuse.

“Even those who would defend an adult’s right to porn would surely not oppose any restriction or sanction placed on parents who knowingly or negligently expose their children to this abuse.”

Mr Morrison said Australia’s laws currently “exempted” from sanction parents who exposed their children to porn.

“Our laws should and must draw the line.”

The NSW Liberal said the legal system protected children from the dangers of firearms in the home and should similarly protect them from pornography.

“Any ammunition must be stored in a locked and separate container, it must be put in a locked receptacle which is very solid, and failure to meet these requirements attracts a jail sentence,” Mr Morrison said.

“If we can protect our children from guns then we should also be aware of the loaded gun that is lying around in the homes of thousands of Australians on their computer, on their coffee table, in their bathroom or in their bookcase.”

The opposition’s housing spokesman said long-term exposure to porn put children at great risk of developing sexually deviant tendencies, committing sexual offences and having difficulties with intimate relationships.”

Guess who wants to teach our 5 year old kids to masturbate

If your first guess was not the UN then sorry your wrong. Of couse it’s not just teaching 5 year old to masturbate but also 9 year old’s to obtain condom’s and that abortion is safe (just not for child being killed in the abortion).

How can these people come out with this junk and say that it a right of the child to be taught this in schools. This is the parents responsibility to teach their own children in a manner that they see as appropriate, not what the state decides.

A June report from the United Nations Economic, Social and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) suggests children of all countries and cultures are entitled to sexual and reproductive education beginning at age five…The guidelines are designed, according to the report, to be “age-appropriate” and break down the suggested curriculum into four age groups: 5- to 8-year-olds, 9- to 12-year-olds, 12- to 15-year-olds and 15- to 18-year-olds.

For those aged 5 to 8, some key concepts to be discussed are:
– “Touching and rubbing one’s genitals is called masturbation” and that “girls and boys have private body parts that can feel pleasurable when touched by oneself.”
– That “people receive messages about sex, gender, and sexuality from their cultures and religions.”
– That “all people regardless of their health status, religion, origin, race or sexual status can raise a child and give it the love it deserves.”
– “Gender inequality,” “examples of gender stereotypes,” and “gender-based violence.”
– Description of fertilization, conception, pregnancy, and delivery.

For those aged 9 to 12, key concepts include:

– “specific steps involved in obtaining and using condoms and contraception, including emergency contraception” and the “signs and symptoms of pregnancy.”
– That “legal abortion performed under sterile conditions by medically trained personnel is safe.”
– Discussing the ideas of “homophobia, transphobia and abuse of power.”
– Discussing that “every person has the right to decide whether to become a parent, including disable people and people living with HIV” as well as “ART (anti-retroviral therapy) and side-effects on puberty.”
– That “both men and women can give and receive sexual pleasure” and the “definition and function of orgasm.”
– Discussing “examples of harmful traditional practices,” listed examples of which include female genital cutting, honour killings, bride killings, and polygamy.”
